Helpful Tools for University Students

I enrolled into my current course, thinking that it'll be 100% exam-based and more academically inclined. Boy,how wrong I was.

As my course involves coursework based assignments, I was forced to explore on websites and applications that can aid me in completing my assignments. So here are some of the tools that I've used for my tasks.





1.Youtube

 Youtube has been a lifesaver for me countless of times. It's not limited to being a source for music, you can find various tutorials on this website. To the video makers and uploaders, I can't thank you enough.  

2.Canva

If you're artistically challenged or just wanted to create some quick and simple designs, this website is a great help. Canva comes with custom-designed templates for ease of access and there is an options for you to create your design from scratch. 

3.Wondershare Filmora

As my assignments involves making short videos on various topics, editing videos can be a pain in the backside. As Windows 10 have phased out its user-friendly Windows Movie Maker app, I have to find another alternative that is useful and easy to use. Wondershare Filmora has become my saviour. With pre-installed templates, filters and audio, creating a video has become a breeze. There are also other effects packs for download if you feel like.....


4. Google Docs, Slides and Sheets

Having group assignments which involves delegating parts of a topic and having one person to compile it at the end is a daunting task. Thankfully there's Google docs. This app lets multiple users to edit the same document and will automatically save it.

5. Google Drive 

Ever have that fear of your pendrive getting infected and losing your precious work? Or forgetting to bring your pendrive with you to print? Backup your work and various files in Google Drive. With 15GB of free space, you can easily share and access your files anywhere and everywhere with internet connection.

6. Google Hangouts 

There are times when I need to do a group discussion but can't be at the same place with my group mates, so Google Hangouts is a lifesaver for this problem. This app lets you chat with up to 10 users at a time. 

7. Mendeley software

                                                          

Writing academic papers is the core of every course. Committing grammatical errors and not using the correct reference style is considered sacrilegious in the eyes of academicians. This website aids you in compiling all your references and generating them in a few simple clicks. Mendeley is also available as a plugin for Chrome and Microsoft Word.
